Estelle Getty 1924 - 2008
Sophia Petrillo was one of the best characters on TV. Personally, her snarky daughter Dorothy (Bea Arthur) will alwasy be my favorite Golden Girl, but Estelle Getty's Sophia always made me laugh. There are a small number of shows that I will sit and watch over and over again. Law and Order, Friends, and Golden Girls. Even a show about "old ladies" could be entertaining to a 10 year old in the 80's; the stories of friendship transcend age.We'll miss you, Sophia.
